On Friday, May 16, former Alta Loma High School standout Garret Halbeisen’s current collegiate team the La Verne Leopards won 5-1 against the Whitworth Pirates in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.

The game took place at Ben Hines Field at 1:35 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Whitworth Pirates in the tournament.

The La Verne Leopards’ next game will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 12:10 p.m. at Ben Hines Field.
